DHA FOOD ARENA

The design approach of this project is to create a microclimate within the residential area in DHA_Lahore where visitors can eat, drink and find a moment of relaxation along their journey. The design consists of five masses of Food & Beverage and Coffee with a lounge and seating area by applying a 3-dimensional diamond shaped grid system in the design by using the parametric techniques integrated into the geometric system, delivering a cohesive spatial system of architecture and its environment.
The design is adaptive according to the variations of the functional needs, such that created a series of sequential spatial systems at various heights consisting of the rooftop platform, terraces, plaza spaces, fountains etc., which are formed following the extant landform morphology.
The design of the buildings create flexible spaces that can facilitate multiple types of interactions, from quiet and concentrated work zones to highly public and social spaces. The materiality and planting of the landmark space creates a noticeable contrast with the white clean lines of the masses, attracting the people to the area, creating a warm sense of place for them and connecting them to the outside world.
