Bodies & Figures

Inspired by the work of M.C Escher, we worked first with 2-dimensional tessellations generating and organizing a system through repetition and transformation of a set number of members.

Moving into the third dimensions we embraced machine logic and material behavior as informing agents in the design and fabrication process.
Using the technique of robotic incremental sheet forming and concrete casting, aiming to materialize the richness of variation in form and texture of M.C Eschers, drawings are translated into architectural scale.
